This 15th of August 2020, India’s 74th Independence day, Goan citizens and communities gathered to take up various initiatives in doing good for the state of Goa.

 

1. Silent protest until August 31 to protect Taleigao fields

A few citizens from parts of North Goa joined in a silent protest since August 15th 2020, to raise their voices against the land filling in fertile fields in Taleigao.

Farmers have claimed that there are plans of building panchayat house after filling the field. They have alleged that workers in the field are be threatened and forced to leave fields.

Farmers Association has stated that farmers have not been served any notice.

You too can join in and voice out for this cause and support our farmers, everyday, from the 15th of August until the 31st of August 2020, 5 pm to 6 pm, at Taleigao

 2. Tree Plantation Drive held by Chicalim Parish Youth

The SFX Chicalim Parish Youth, in collaboration with Chicalim Youth Farmers Club took part in a plantation drive in Chicalim

“Zhadd Roi, Jivit Fuloi” (Plant Trees, Celebrate Life)

   

 3. Clean up at Reis Magos Beach by #ROSTOGOA team and volunteers
