UNICEF in Maharashtra to join hands with Goa WCD to address issues in Child Protection

The UNICEF in Maharashtra has joined hands with Goa Women and Child Development (WCD) to provide support in the area of child protection in the State. In February 2019, the Goa WCD held a discussion on key challenges around child protection in Goa which was attended by key officials from UNICEF Maharashtra. Several key issues were raised during this discussion including the needs of vulnerable migrant children and the need for systematic training of the workforce on the Integrated Child Protection Scheme. Further, the need for convergence of various stakeholders was discussed and UNICEF Maharashtra committed to provide support in this area in the future.
